Those who can use the sniper rifles at any range are far in between. Even the good ones from OpTic on YouTube averages at around 1.6 KD and below. Until they make bigger maps with proper long sight lines, snipers will run and gun and engage in CQC.
The fact that the majority of those who try to use the snipers in CQ goes negative suggest that it isn't as effective on that range as their haters suggest.
