It's important to keep in mind that just because a portion of causal players might agree with the pros, it doesn't necessarily mean that the pros don't have a disproportionate level of influence. Also, if we rely on our common sense, it is not so far fetched to think that pros have a bigger influence than any given portion of the casual gaming population.
Afterall, if you had to get feedback on your product from somebody, who would you go to first. The unknown causal gamer (albeit possibly knowledgeable ones like we have in this forum), or the so called pros whose very existence is intricately intertwined with part of your marketing strategy.
You do have a point, but they are still not listening solely to MLG gamers. Again, if that were the case the game would be substantially different then it is now. Its not even viable to use Public games for Practice. Any MLG player will tell you that Pubs are nothing like an actual competitive match. Pubs are for down time for most MLG players, a place to relax and stomp people rather then tryhard
